the future of radioKCIA

Over the next few months radioKCIA will be starting to develop its new style. The station will be changing from a literal radio station to a host for podcasting radio shows starting next fall. This is simply because radio is just too damn expensive. It costs alot to have a radio station to run 24/7 (which it does if people listen or not) and our equipment cant handle that. So we think it would be easier for students to get involved and for students to listen if we become your one stop shop for radio entrainment. Move over radiolab theres a new podcast station coming through. What do you guys think?

Want to buy Arcade Fire’s church?

Arcade Fire is selling their Montreal church studio space for a cool $325,000 if you have money and are in the market for one.

Pitchfork reported in October that the roof had collapsed and the band vacated to a new space to record their upcoming album. The real estate listing does disclose that the roof needs to be replaced at a cost of $24,300 to $44,200, “depending on the materials chosen,” and that there is “Slight water infiltration in the basement during heavy rain in the mechanical room.”

A bit of a fixer upper, but for the collector, check out the listing here.

Jack Johnson is more of a badass then I thought

It’s been a decade since Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album dropped. Yet, it’s still an incredible album. And it’s been six years since Big Boi and Andre 3000 have worked together as Outkast. 3000 has said repeatedly that he doesn’t know when—or if—the duo will collaborate again. But in the meantime, listen to “Bowtie,” click your heels together three times, shut your eyes tight, and hope another album will happen sometime.

Cat reviews Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”

Our resident cat and music expert, Barry Gibb, loves unraveling balls of yarn and listening to pop music. This week he took time out of his loaded schedule to review Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

Let us know if you agree with Barry. But be nice, he’s just a cat.
